Privacy and safety

Teachers decide what students can use and approve any marks, feedback or HPC card before publication. In a student room, the teacher can read every chat, comment, pause the room and review alerts. Students see only their own conversations.

Names on the class list are replaced with pseudonyms such as S1 before text prompts reach the global-region model. Script images and student answers go only to the India-region vision tier (Gemini in Mumbai), and student room text goes only to India-region Gemini tiers; without them these features stay switched off. Skoolu's database is hosted in Singapore. Until your school's data processing agreement is signed, Skoolu blocks adding students, answer-script uploads, writing feedback and student rooms, unless an admin confirms test students only in Settings, then Privacy and DPA. Guardian emails and phone numbers never go to any model. Phone numbers in student chats are removed and flagged.

If a student asks for help with a safety concern, the room shows care guidance and helplines (Tele-MANAS 14416, Child Helpline 1098, and 112 in an emergency). An urgent message is emailed at once to the room's teachers and the safeguarding leads your school names in Settings, then Student safety (or its admins if none is named), one email per student and room every 30 minutes while an alert is open, and stays in the urgent alerts inbox until someone reviews them. The email gives the class, roll number and reason, not the student's name or message. For immediate danger, contact a trusted adult or call 112. Do not treat an AI reply as a substitute for a teacher or counsellor.

Only use test people and synthetic data when trying out a new workflow.
